“Sacred Circle” Miracle Life Print
This is the first of 5 painting for the Miracle Life Project with talented Rinska Douna.
Our families fraternal twin girls were born in January of 2018 at 28 weeks gestation. My daughters spent 10 weeks in Neo-Natal Intensive Care in Spokane, Washington. They were born at 2lb 12oz and 2lb 13oz.
Rinske expressed “If a baby is born prematurely, your world is turned upside down.” I can completely relate with this. I want this painting to express the venerability of this experience. During this time, it felt as if we were hanging by a thread. During these ten weeks, my husband and I leaned heavily on our family and friends. We learned the powerful lesson, that it is ok to ask for help and to be venerable with people that love us. We understand more than ever that it takes a village, and how grateful we are for our village.
These colors remind me of the in-utero and birth experience. The circles represent our family including myself my husband, the grandparents and our three children. When we brought our twin girls home home our circle was complete.
