The proceeds of these sales will help fund the "Miracle Life Project", I am personally donating hundreds of prints to parents and families with premature babies in the NICU. 50% of revenue will fund donations to the Sacred Heart NICU, and hopefully beyond! “Bright Side” Miracle Life Print
This is the third of 5 painting for the Miracle Life Project with talented Rinska Douna.
Our families fraternal twin girls were born in January of 2018 at 28 weeks gestation. My daughters spent 10 weeks in Neo-Natal Intensive Care in Spokane, Washington. They were born at 2lb 12oz and 2lb 13oz.
Babies and children LOVE rainbows! It fills them with wonder. The colors are a natural expression of light, the way it comes out and fills the sky with color, it fills them with joy and imagination. The week I was creating this painting, rainbows were everywhere!
This project could not have come at a better time. My preemie twins are now going on 4 years old. These last few years with everything going on have been trying. If you have been the parent to a two- or three-year-old, I am sure you understand. Three young children can break you down. It’s not only parents that have struggled in 2020/21.
When I think about the sun after the rain it’s that inner light and the feeling of joy and relief. I am able to tap into this when I practice simple routines and the small things that offer comfort. It may be a bath, a cup of tea. I know when I fill my own cup, I am able to fill the cups of my family. The little cups always held up needing filled.
